Walking into the original kitchen, the layout immediately felt oppressive, limiting both movement and connection to the surrounding spaces. It was clear there was an opportunity to significantly improve flow and create a more cohesive open-plan living environment. With the property being upgraded for rental, the focus was on making smart, considered decisions — achieving strong bang for buck while ensuring durability, longevity, and a level of finish that still felt premium.

Delivered as a fully remote project, this renovation asked for a high level of design input. We reworked the layout to improve access and usability, removing the existing half wall and opening the kitchen into the adjoining living areas. New flooring was introduced to tie the spaces together, while a bar overhang added a practical and welcoming point of connection.

A combination of dark and timber-toned cabinetry brings a sense of depth and warmth, offering a fresh take that feels both modern and cosy. The end result is a space that feels fresh, more connected, and liveable — a thoughtful upgrade that balances practicality with a quiet sense of luxury.

Alongside the kitchen renovation, we also supported a wider scope of work to bring the home fully up to rental-ready standard. This included extending the new flooring through into the hallway, a full interior paint refresh, and a range of smaller general works. Taking a holistic approach with our on-site teams ensured we were again maximising labour, and ensuring the entire space felt cohesive, considered, and ready for its next chapter.
